Good Life is a statewide initiative launched by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) and supported by the Ohio Association of County Boards (OACB). The Good Life focuses on helping people live a good life by using tools based on compassion, appreciation, and respect.
Positive Culture is also a statewide initiative launched by Ohio DODD and supported by OACB. Positive Culture focuses on improving the DD system with better communication, emphasizing the true work of care giving, and to positively impact the quality of life for individuals served by the DD system.
The Good Life Initiative focuses on a new way of how professionals in the DD field show compassion, appreciation, and respect with the people they serve as well as their professional peers. The goal is to move away from the old way of approaching how to serve in the DD field to improve customer service.
The Good Life is about great relationships and collaborations to enhance services and focuses on helping people live a good life by using some fundamental tools based on compassion, appreciation, and respect.

The Positive Culture Initiative focuses on lasting changes within the DD system to build strong relationships with people served and employed by the DD system and improve quality of life. The focus is to bring new conversations about what people within the DD profession, as well as people with developmental disabilities, want and need from the DD system.
The Positive Culture is about positively impacting the quality of life for people served by the DD service delivery system, and making a difference in our professional and caregiving relationships without additional rules, regulations and funding. We want to strive to bring out the best in each other, be supportive, be encouraging, and celebrate successes.
